In 2019, the two Faroese agricultural associations founded the company behind hiking.fo.
Faroese law states that access to nature requires permission from the landowner. Unfortunately, not everyone complies — to the detriment of nature and wildlife. It has also resulted in injuries, some fatal, where rescue teams and helicopters have had to search for tourists who were hurt or lost. Booking through hiking.fo means you walk with permission, with a guide, and safely.
