I booked a guided hike and the money returned to my card — what do I do?

Nothing. The amount is only reserved on your card at booking and is captured once the tour has been completed. Some banks show the reservation being released before the final charge.

If the ferry to Mykines is cancelled due to weather, will I get a refund?

Accepted Answer

Yes — you automatically get a full refund. It's not possible to reschedule when the ferry cancels; you'll need to book a new ticket.

Safety comes first. If we cancel a tour due to weather, you can rebook for free or get a full refund.

I'm travelling to Mykines by helicopter — can I join the guided hike?

Yes. When you arrive by helicopter, go straight to the school and you'll be able to join the guided hike.

What should I wear when hiking?

Accepted Answer

Good hiking shoes are essential — it can be slippery and dangerous without them. Bring extra layers: the weather changes quickly and can turn rainy, cold and windy. Hiking poles are helpful if you have them.

What should I bring on a boat tour?

Accepted Answer

Warm, windproof clothing, a hat and gloves. It's always colder on the water. Life vests and survival suits are provided where needed.
